Republic of Telly Intro sequence and Bumper segment
I was asked to create an intro sequence for RTEs satirical weekly TV review show 'Republic of Telly'. The series producers brief was that It had to show off as many of the programmes it was satirising as well as incorporating the presenters of the show into nearly each of the shots. There was a very limited timeframe and stock footage to put it all together. I decided to use a TV/monitor in each shot as an interlinking device to act as a passthrough portal to move from one location to the next. Its all quite hectic and full on but meets the criteria of what the producer was looking for. The bumper segment was one of many quick segments done by myself and the Langerland/Red Gorilla crew to act as bumpers either side of the ad breaks in the show. The NSFW language aside this piece is a homage to the channel 4 branding and was created in After Effects, all elements are 2d on 3d plane and camera. RTE The Premiership
I was asked by VFX talent and good friend Andy Clarke to help with rotoscoping and some compositing work on this Intro sequence for RTE's football programme. All roto was painstakingly done on very fast moving interlaced SD footage to remove the footballers from their normal pitch environment and place them in an urban landscape. My first real experience with roto and compositing 2d to 3d as well as integrating elements and camera from Maya into a comp and tracking live action to a 3d set. RTE Failte Towers bumper
A quick promo piece created for reality show 'Failte Towers' on RTE. The producers wanted a cut out style promo not too far removed from the Langerland work that showcased the location with a nod to Fawlty Towers in the general chaos and mayhem that goes on throughout the hotel. Animation and Compositing - Paul Madden additional animation - Eoin Whelehan |
