Delicious 9 - animation collective
From 2001 - 2010 I was part of a Dublin based animation collective called 'The Delicious 9'. Initially there were 9 members all from the same IADT Animation graduate class of 2000. With little or no money and lots of big ideas, we set about making music videos, short films, live and theatre visuals and anything else we could squeeze a visually captivating moving image into. Below are some examples of the work created through different media - scratch on film, pencil on paper, exquisite corpses, greenscreen, live action, abstract digital, 2D, 3D and more. It was a very creative fulfilling time and helped me experiment with visual storytelling. Below are some of the pieces I worked on.
Lysine (Max Tundra/Domino)Created as part of the Darklight Film Festival indentity this was featured in promotional media as well as in between screenings at the festival.

I Love Acid (Luke Vibert/WARP)Official music video for Luke Vibert's song 'I Love Acid', produced for Warp Records. This featured on the Warp 10 DVD. Fun Fact - we 'premiered' this video to Luke Vibert in a fire escape of a long since disappeared club night at the top of O'Connell Street Dublin, just before he went on stage.

Jacknuggeted (Caribou)Caribou worked with us to create one animated video for each of his songs on the album 'Marino' that were used as synched visuals on his tour (click track) as well as featuring on a Marino music video DVD. This was the single that we all chipped in on the live action shot, tracking, roto, animation, comp and FX.
