Brain Freeze is a 13 part children's science series for CBBC. It is a follow on from our previous series Science Fiction (RTE / CBBC). Live action puppetry shot on greenscreen, composited with 3D environments. 2D Flash animated cutaway segments are used to explain the science. Brainfreeze aims to answer scientific questions in a fun and silly way remaining true to scientific fact. The show is presented by the daft Professor Mike McCork and the calm under chaos Dr Sorcha Knowles and featuring their nervous floor manager Colin. Worked as compositor and editor. Assisted setting up puppets within the CG environments adding props robots, lighting and FX. I developed a production pipeline for the series; detailed episode animatics to match greenscreen shots to CG studio environments; logging footage and scene setup at puppet shoots created precise greenscreen edits for keying, compositing, colour grade and QC and facilitated reshoots and pickups. |
